Calvin J. Stocker is the Founder and CEO of EdPrep Partners, where he leads strategic planning, partnership development, and technical assistance initiatives aimed at dramatically improving the quality of teacher preparation nationwide. His commitment to closing the opportunity gap began during his time as a Teach for America corps member in the Houston Independent School District. Calvin played a key role in building one of the nation’s top teacher preparation programs at Teaching Excellence, recognized for its rigorous coaching and feedback model that strengthened teacher effectiveness across multiple districts.
With a track record of founding and supporting the growth of five of the nation’s technical assistance centers focused on improving the quality of teacher preparation, Calvin has deep expertise in growing quality programs at scale, enhancing sustainability, and navigating complex change management. Whether a program is in its early stages of development, scaling for broader impact, or refining established practices for sustained excellence, Calvin’s strategic approach ensures progress and measurable results.
His work spans educational policy and licensure, implementing high-impact technical assistance to enhance candidate development, developing meaningful measures for program improvement, advising on strategy development, and collaborating with community and philanthropic partners. Calvin also serves as an advisor to the Texas State Board for Educator Certification and the Texas Alternative Certification Association, further advancing his commitment to high-quality teacher preparation nationwide.
