Dr. Michele R. Staples is a dedicated educator whose career is distinguished by a strong commitment to enhancing educational outcomes for pre-service teachers and promoting a culture of excellence in teaching. Beginning her teaching career in 1993 as an elementary school teacher and later transitioning to higher education, Dr. Staples has contributed significantly to Education Preparation Programs since 2005.
Her professional credentials are comprehensive, including certifications as a Texas Accredited Reading Specialist, EC-6 Teacher, ESL Teacher, and Trainer of Trainers for both the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) and Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL). These qualifications underscore her expertise in mentoring and training educators, with a particular focus on reading instruction, support for emergent bilinguals, and effective pedagogical strategies across various classroom environments.
Throughout her career, Dr. Staples has mentored, trained, and coached teachers and pre-service teachers in various content areas and during their clinical experiences. Most recently, she served as an Associate Clinical Professor at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where she taught a variety of courses and coordinated clinical teaching, providing support and training to supervisors and cooperating teachers while aiding teacher candidates in their professional growth.
In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Dr. Staples is deeply committed to community service. She volunteers with organizations such as the USO South Texas, Go Team Therapy Dogs, and Driscoll Children's Hospital, engaging in activities that support children and families within her community. Her involvement in these initiatives reflects her belief in the importance of giving back and making a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
As she continues her work as an educational consultant, Dr. Staples remains focused on inspiring future generations of educators and advocating for the diverse needs of all students in an ever-evolving educational landscape.
