Dr. Kellee Watkins

Dr. Kellee D. Watkins is an Assistant Teaching Professor and Praxis Coordinator at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. She earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Livingstone College, an M.Ed. in Reading, Language, and Literacy (K–12) from UNC Charlotte, and a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from UNC Greensboro, where her dissertation examined reading standards and program implementation in a Title I school.
At NC A&T, Dr. Watkins teaches reading education courses in the undergraduate Elementary Education and MAT programs and leads the implementation of Practice-Based Teacher Education. Her research interests include English Language Arts and Reading Education, curriculum standards, and teacher professional development and coaching.
She is passionate about supporting teachers in diverse school settings and engaging families to strengthen student learning. Dr. Watkins holds certifications in Elementary Education (K–6), Reading Specialist (K–12), School Leadership, and National Board Certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist.
