Dr. Gina Anderson, Retired Associate Dean for Educator Preparation & Partnerships and Professor Emerita of Teacher Education at Texas Woman’s University, has served in education for nearly 40 years, including 22 years in higher education. Her career reflects a deep commitment to strengthening educator preparation through standards-based practices and innovative partnerships, including teacher residencies and grow-your-own initiatives. A recognized leader in advocacy, accreditation, and continuous improvement, Dr. Anderson has influenced state and national conversations on teacher recruitment, access, preparation, retention, and accountability. Her expertise spans program leadership, coalition building, mentoring, and addressing systemic challenges in educator preparation. She has authored dozens of peer-reviewed publications and has received multiple state and national awards for leadership and service. Dr. Anderson is widely regarded for her collaborative approach to advancing the teaching profession and for her enduring impact on the systems and people that prepare the next generation of educators.
